Itinerary
Fly from Ulaanbaatar to Ölgii, the capital of Bayan-Ölgii Province. On arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to a guesthouse or traditional ger camp. Explore Ölgii town, visit the local market, and experience daily life in western Mongolia. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring traditional Kazakh cuisine.
Drive from Ölgii to the Altai Mountains (approx. 2–4 hours). Arrive at a remote nomadic settlement and meet a Kazakh eagle hunter and his family. Get introduced to the magnificent golden eagle, learn about nomadic traditions, and settle into the family’s ger for an authentic cultural experience.
Witness a traditional eagle hunting demonstration, with the hunter dressed in authentic Kazakh attire. Learn how golden eagles are trained and used for hunting. Free time for photography, horseback riding, or hiking through the breathtaking Altai landscape.
Participate in daily nomadic activities such as milking animals and preparing dairy products. Try traditional Kazakh games or archery and visit nearby nomad families to understand their way of life. Enjoy a warm, home-cooked traditional dinner with your host family.
Drive back to Ölgii in the morning. Enjoy free time to explore local museums, shop for souvenirs, or relax in town. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner, celebrating the unforgettable Altai experience.
Transfer to the airport and fly back to Ulaanbaatar, marking the end of your authentic Kazakh eagle hunter journey.
